the horrible DVT

so about 3.5 weeks ago, josh was running. the next day he woke up with the worst pain ever. he felt like he was stepping on needles each time he took a step.

2 days later he went back to the gym to ride a bike and the next day woke up with numb toes on that same foot.

so we booked an appointment with our primary care doc, and josh was diagnosed with something called plantar faciitis. his doctor prescribed him something for pain and inflammation and recommended some physical therapy.

well josh thought it would be a great idea to also see a chiropractor since his toes were feeling numb. so he booked an appointment for that too. when he arrived by his appointment with his doctor, he seemed to think that he had a blood clot in his leg. since the doctor is just a chiropractor we just kind of ignored but he suggested.

in the meantime, Josh has been going to physical therapy, and the pain and swelling has just gotten worse and worse.

so on Sunday I got the feeling that we really needed to get it checked out that day. so I convinced Josh to go to the emergency room. while there he was finally diagnosed with a blood clot in his leg also known as a DVT.

myself and the doctors were all completely shocked because usually these things don't occur unless you have surgery or go on a road trip and that sort of thing.

so now we have to have Josh take some blood thinner pills and he has to have shots in his stomach for about five days. thank goodness I have the knowledge and nursing skills to be able to be doing these at home.

we found out later that something called factor V Leiden runs in his family which causes spontaneous blood clots to form throughout your body. so tomorrow a genetic test will be ran on Josh to see if this is what he has. if by chance he does have this disorder he will have to be on blood thinner pills for the rest of his life. if not, it's probably just a fluke that he ended up with a blood clot and he will only have to be on blood thinner pills for about six months.

we still don't know if his toes are numb because of the blood clot, or if it's because he has something wrong with his back. we are going to wait until his blood clot is clear, and then do something about his back if the numbness is still there. the doctor yesterday was saying something about a pinched a bulging disc in his back that may just need a little injection.

his chiropractor called him out of the blue yesterday to make sure he got his leg checked out and that everything was okay. he said that he also had a bad feeling about Josh and that he was worried about him. it was so nice of him to call Josh and make sure that he was okay.

so I'll try to update my blog again as soon as I know what's up with everything.

josh's brother jesse got married in the Los Angeles temple over the weekend. it was nice to take a small vacation to Cali with this busy schedule of mine. congrats to jesse and Corrine! you guys looked great!

it's been fun, but busy, I'm ultra burned out with life, but only a year left til I get to work as an RN! I'll be an LPN in December. I'm so excited. I love what I do.

my baby sister turns 3 tomorrow! she has grown so much. I just adore her so much and feel very blessed to have her in my life.

we celebrated at chuck e cheese. i handed her a gift and she asked, "is it an iPad?" and I told her, "haha yeah right!" she has my expensive taste, but she's starting young.

josh got offered his first official graphic design job yesterday. he will be working at Utah valley university in the marketing department designing various things for the campus. I am so proud of him for all his hard work. only 2 more semesters until he is an official graduate!

homemade butter

for josh's birthday(April 23) I made him a homemade cake. I wanted the frosting to be perfect, so I made the butter home made. it is super easy and delicious. blend heavy whipping cream in a food processor until it turns into butter. I also added a tiny bit of salt.

I decided I needed to update my blog more, so I figured out how to do it from my phone, so there should be no excuse why it shouldn't happen anymore. haha

so this is the long awaited for house photos... i have been trying to remember to take a picture after i clean a room. since i cleaned my room today, i have a picture of our room. i actually loved the colors of paint in our room when we first moved in, so we kept our room the same color and just did a few touch ups.. and it matched our stuff, so it all worked out great. :)

and i cleaned our bathroom recently, so here is a picture of that too. josh actually got me all this bathroom stuff for christmas, and i absolutely love it..

hey everyone! i am horrible at updating lately... this semester i am taking my hardest classes before i start nursing school, so updating my blog is one of the last things that i have on my mind. josh and i are doing well, just trying to keep up with life!

today i was cleaning up my room, and i found this birthday card that i got from my cute little step brother, andrew. i had to post it for my own sake to save the memory. this card makes me laugh!

so when i got this card he explained to me that me and him were holding hands... in the other picture josh has a remote in his hand, is laying on the couch, and watching t.v. this is so funny to me, because every time we go over to my dad's house, josh goes and lays on the couch and watches t.v. hehe. just cracks me up that this is andrew's memory of josh.

my mom took my brothers and josh and i to the bees game to see the fireworks. the whole time i was completely paranoid about a foul ball coming our way. because i work on a rehab unit in the hospital i see so many crazy things so i am always super careful when it comes to accidents and head injuries. so josh went out and got his hot dog for the game. then a foul ball was hit and guess where it was headed? right towards me. the only thing i knew to do was to duck and protect my head hoping someone around me would catch it. but there was just enough space between my butt and the back of the chair that i caught it with my butt. hehe. josh didn't believe that's what happened until everyone around us convinced him to believe me. hehe. fun game!

father's day

this was the last father's day that we were able to spend with my great grandpa connors. he passed away about a month ago with cancer. he has been away from his wife for 8 years now and his daughter about 6 years. so i am really happy for him. i also feel very special to have known all of my great grandparents in my lifetime. i was able to have a great grandpa for almost 24 years of my life. he was also one of the few family members that was able to be in the temple with me on my wedding day. it was very special to me. i love you grandpa!!

back with the blogging.. maybe even a few posts today. :) my sister danica shares the same birthday as my best friend hayley, june 19th. this was her first birthday. she is the cutest baby girl. i love her to pieces.

so we have a new addition to our family. yes, a dog. i keep thinking to myself why do pets always come to me? problem is i can't ever bring myself into taking them to the pound, because i never know the type of home they will get? i always want pets to be in a good home.

so here is the story. . . so josh and i had a birthday party at our house for our good friend hillery. (i give her most credit for hooking up josh and i.)hehe. keep in mind this was on may 19th. (like i said before, i have some serious updating to do.) anyway we had her invite all of her friends over for cake and ice cream and to hang out a bit. well we get a knock on the front door, and it was some of her friends on the front doorstep with a dog and they all said here is a dog for your birthday. well hillery still lives at home with her parents, and they do not approve of an extra dog in the house so we decided to try to keep it at our house and see how it goes.

as some of you know josh is attached to dogs. he loves them more than life itself sometimes. so he loves the dog and still to this day keeps trying to push me to let him keep her. problem is we already have 2 cats. if we have a dog too, that makes it a petting zoo. so i guess we live in the petting zoo now.

josh is going to be mad at me for saying this, but if anyone wants her or knows of a great home for her they can have her. for free. we were told she has had all of her shots and is spayed, but i don't have record of either one. so who knows?

we named her zoey. she is pretty cute and has been fun. we love her. i just honestly don't want any more pets right now.

p.s. i guess i should also mention in this post that i got a perm. my hair was so so flat all the time and never had body. i didn't want to cut it, because it is the longest it has been in a long time, but most of the perm has fallen out now, and i am fed up with long hair, so i am scheduled to cut it tomorrow. hehe. i think changing hair lots is fun. it mixes things up.

so i am horrible. i do have some pictures to put up. still none of the house. my camera has either been full or my house has been dirty! but i will get some soon. (yeah right believe it when you see it right?) hehe.

so the first event i want to post is joshes birthday. it was on april 23. i know i am horrible at this these days! so as some of you know josh's birthday was the day before our wedding. josh's birthday was on a thursday this year and our anniversary was on a friday (april 24th) so we just turned it into a big party weekend and went off to vegas. it was a great get away and such a blast.

so josh had been complaining lots about not getting a birthday cake for the past few years of his birthday, and how because of our anniversary, he probably wouldn't have any great birthdays from here on out because our anniversary is so close to his birthday. so i wanted to surprise him and do something so secretive and special for him. so i got this HUGE birthday bag and i filled it with some birthday gifts and a little cake for his birthday. (josh loves cake!) i got the cake from the same place we got our wedding cake and cupcakes, dippidee. we love dippidee! my mom even put some cute little fillers in the bag.

so while we were in vegas the night of our anniversary we got to go see the blue man group. it was incredibly entertaining and so very fun. we loved it.. these aren't the actual blue men, but we got to get pictures with their wax figures in the wax museum..

then we went to the coke factory and tried different sodas

then we went to the m&m factory and got some over-priced m&m's that
were all sorts of different cool colors. we love m&m's!

then when we got home from vegas we attempted to eat our year old wedding cake. it was not frost bitten at all, but it really tasted like it. josh kept warning me and wanted to eat it well before a year, but i wanted to stick with traditions, and look how far that got me. hehe.

my brother JD got his long awaited mission call yesterday. we are so excited for him! he was called to serve in the south new york, new york mission english speaking. he leaves on his mission august 26, 2009. for those of you that actually know him, this place is absolutely perfectly fitting for him. he is the biggest yankees fan, and he's such a city boy and loves to talk to everyone he meets when he walks down the street. congrats JD! we love you!

first off, my sincere apologies for not updating lately. all of this moving stuff has been consuming most of my time. then school started. i have lots of homework/studying to do all of the time and i am a bad blogger as of the past couple months.

sad to say, i do not have pics of the house yet. we still have some decorating to do. but look for a post in the near future with our new home.

in jan we went on a cruise about a week after we moved in. my dad got us some tickets through his work. it was such a nice get away after we were running around with our heads cut off for a week. i have some pics and videos from that trip..

so we started out in peurto rico.

pretty st lucia. we were also told that they had black sand beaches.
i so would have loved to have seen one of those but we didn't have enough time.

this is a video of one of the plants they had there. it kinda reminded me of a fly trap. it closes its leaves when you touch it. we also saw this cool plant that kills aids, although unfortunately it kills people too. and there was also this tree sap that gets a really strong menthol smell, and it clears your sinuses. it was wondrous.

this was our last day in barbados. the sun struck everyone just right that day because multiple people looked like lobsters by the end of the day. i didn't wear sun screen on my legs for the whole trip and didn't get an ounce of sun on them until barbados. i was fried that night and had to spend the rest of the night in the room with aloe and a cool towel on my legs, but regardless, it was lots of fun. i am really afraid of the ocean, but i couldn't resist the big waves. i even got in.

on one of the islands we learned that someone being a homosexual was also called a "chi chi boy" so i would like to call these guys the chi chi boys for formal nights.

and we can't forget about all of my farm animals. i collected them all up during the week and put them all on my table. first we have the swan. ..

sadly all of that fun had to end. we had quite a few hours left to spare once we got off the ship, so we spent time time in peurto rico before our flight left. this is a pic of the three amigos.

well we decided to buy a new house because it is such a great time to buy. we got a 5% interest rate. we couldn't pass it up. we are supposed to get the keys on wednesday if everything goes as planned. it is in provo (we love provo). and we plan to stay there til we at least finish school (in a few years) after that we will see where the road takes us. it might still be in utah but you never know. so it has a downstairs apartment, and that is another reason why we are getting it so we can get help with the payments while we are in school. and can't forget the photos...

and those aren't our decorations by the way. (even though it does look cute we will for sure make it our own)

this is our very first christmas together as a married couple. we didn't get our tree up til halfway through the month though because of our busy lives. we didn't really want a big tree this year so we got this little cute gold tree with mismatched ornaments. we also don't really have very many christmas decorations this year, but its enough to make our home feel more christmasy.

first off forgive me for not posting in a while .. this is kind of a long, but fun post.

so we went to florida to visit josh's family for thanksgiving. it was so much fun/relaxing. i don't know his family very well because i have only seen them like 3 times in my life because we live in utah. so i was really happy to be with them and get to know them more.

florida was so so warm. (it really hasn't been too cold in utah though.) but the weather where we were was perfect.

when i was growing up whenever i was in florida my dad always wanted us to see alligators. we never did. but josh knew where we could see some so we went and took lots of pictures.

so this is like a tourist national park area, so there was a tram that drove past the alligators and it got pretty close to them and this one had to get its lazy butt up and move so it got mad and opened its mouth a little bit. i am glad it did because it allowed us to take some fun pics of it.

whats new

well the head topic of our household lately has been about prop 8/gay marriage. it is such a difficult issue. i hate it. i mostly hate how bad everyone is battling with the mormons about it.

this protest happened about a block from my house. annoying. don't these people know that mormons only made about 5% of the votes on prop 8? i guess not, because mormons are getting the wrath of all of it. my friend drew has made some great comments about the issue and he better expresses how i feel about it than i could.

maybe people are getting the wrong idea because of stupid things like this...

on a lighter note, we are going to florida next week for thanksgiving to see josh's family. that will be an eventful trip. we are so excited.

ice skating at the gallivan center has started. (even though there has hardly been any snow.) its beginning to look a lot like christmas, and i am excitied.

also last night i made the most amazing veggie pot pie. it was so so good. and the crust was great too. mmmm good.

we really didn't have any fun plans this year. we didn't even have plans to dress up. but we found these totally awesome t-shirts for $5 on this website called woot. once i put it on and started getting ready for the night i decided that i should maybe dress up a little bit so i just started doing wacky things to my hair (which wasn't much) and then i remembered that i had some totally awesome 80's stretch pants in my closet so i put those on. not much else. but it was fun nonetheless. here are some pictures/and the main events...

when we first left the house we ran into angel moroni on the corner... unfortunately we were driving so the picture is a blur but it was pretty funny.

so we first went to my dad's house to see off my

happy birthday to me (october 9)

and i am an old person now. and i am only getting older. 23 now. wow.

so i woke up and came out of my room and this is what i saw...

josh was pretty proud of this banner, and he should be...

he didn't forget the cake either... (cupcakes are my absolute favorite and these were really yummy)

he even hid out in his office the whole night before working on this adorable card for me (he said that it would be best if i didn't know what he was doing in there so i took his word for it) this is probably one of the cutest cards ever. and he kept on asking me what i wanted for my birthday and i kept telling him "just don't forget when it is and make me a sweet card."

then i opened the present and it had a shirt inside that was real cute and he got me a variety pack of different body washes and lotions. he said he got it for me because i always have a hard time deciding what lotion and body wash to get when we go to the store. (which is totally true i am always looking for at least 10-15 min.) and these are all so nice.
then he lit the tea light candles to sing happy birthday and it was so sweet. (my cat molly licked off half of the frosting on one of them)
then we went to park city to go shopping at the outlets and josh told me i could get whatever i wanted so i picked out a few long sleeve shirts since it has been really cold lately, and i got a really warm jacket, and some cute sock/slippers to wear around the house.
and then after park city we went to provo to go out to eat with some of my friends/old roommates. we went to the pizza factory and they made me a cute little birthday pizza shaped like a "23" but it had pepperoni on it and i don't eat meat so everyone else ate it. haha. and josh got so excited that he chipped his front tooth on a fork when he was biting into the "23" pizza. itwas crazy/funny. i was sad that i never got a picture of my "23" pizza but oh well. i was happy that my friends rachel and jordan came. i love these guys. and they are getting married next month. woo hoo!
then we went to a free outdoor concert/joshua james after the pizza factory in provo. which was lots of fun. i saw a few of my other provo friends there too. then i got sick so we went home. (and i have been really sick with a bad cold ever since)
then the next day we went out to dinner with my dad and my step mom and my brothers and my sister at the olive garden in sandy. it was lots of fun. they all gave me really sweet and thoughtful birthday cards. (danica even signed the card that andrew, mindy, & danica gave me. haha it was so cute)
my mom sent me some scrubs in the mail for my birthday. they are so sweet. the kids at work will love my new halloween and christmas scrubs.

anyway that was my birthday celebration all in a nutshell. i had a great time. thank you to everyone that celebrated my birthday with me this year. it was a great year and a great birthday. biggest thanks to josh though. he knows that my birthday depresses me so he did everything he could to make sure i had the most perfect birthday. thank you sweetie.

so we are both in school now. it has been kinda crazy. we spent about $1000 in books between both of us. and then i decided to get on amazon and try and find them for cheaper. i ended up rebuying all of our books and spending about $500 on books. but then we took all the other ones back. so in the future note to self.. always buy books on amazon.

our lives have been so busy we are either working or going to school all day at least 6 days a week. it will all be worth it in the end but it is really realy hard.

we are both only working part time and in school full time but it honestly feels like we are both working 2 part time jobs because of how busy we are.

anyway, sorry nothing too exciting lately. just school. but this week is the doyle family reunion and my sister danica's blessing so i will post later on with some fun pictures.

a few weeks ago we went to zion's national park for a little get away. we both had 4 days of work off so we wanted to take advantage of it.

this is our really awesome hotel we stayed in. we were pretty fascinated by the sticks they decided to call art on the wall above the bed.

the hotel even had their very own personal labrinth.
i thought these only existed in the movies (david bowie) but nope they totally exist in zions.

this is us walking through the labrinth. (sorry it is crooked in the future we know to record them the right way.)

i even got so excited that i decided to do yoga right at the mountain top. (this is really just pretend for the picture, but apparently the hotel hosts yoga classes there, pretty sweet!)
josh was pretty fascinated with this prayer stick.

and he lifted this heavy stone so he could get a picture with it.
the labrinth made us really happy.

then we started our wondrous hike. we hiked up to the narrows.
i was excitedso was josh

we even captured a video of this exciting event.

but it got really hot. good thing we had our water.
on the way up to the narrows josh decided to stop and feed the squirrels peanuts.
then this one totally latched on to his finger and he had to practically fling it off. (no wonder why they tell you to not feed the animals) *josh did not get hurt the squirrel did not break through the skin. *and we must have a squirrel video.. this is the fat one. he was cute. (this was before josh realized they bite)

i liked hiking in the water because it wasn't as hot. it was perfect.
but josh trailed right through the water in his hiking boots. (he didn't have chacos ;) )
then it was snack time. and josh decided to be a bum and tease me about eating chips ....

and then more hiking.
josh really wanted to get a picture in the nook. so instead i took a secret video. :) (sorry again for it being crooked.)

then 10 minutes later i decided it was actually lunch time.
i mean peanut butter jelly time.

i was happy.
josh really wanted a picture by this rock. he liked the water running down it.

and that concludes our adventure at zions. ( after we got a little in & out in st. george. i absolutely love their 2000 calorie grilled cheese sandwich.)

these are some pictures that some of you have been wanting to see of our apartment. we started out bare white walls and put in some creativity and hard work and now it is our humble home. we love it. it gets really hot sometimes but we have 2 a/c and have gotten used to it.

this is the floorplan for our apartment. it is kinda flipped a little bit so you can kind of get an idea.

after you walk through the kitchen more you have what they call the "enclosed sun porch" it is just the perfect size for josh to have a place to work on his art and a little office for our computer and lots of storage. this room is always a HUGE mess. so sorry we don't have any pictures of it.

and this is our bedroom. we refinished all of the furniture ourselves from my parent's old bedroom set. it was such hard work. sanding, painting, staining, finishing,... not fun!! but we love how it turned out. (there are no "before" pictures this time.)

we are both doing really great. josh's last day of work at the power company is tomorrow then he is going to start working at chem dry. let me know if you ever need your carpet cleaned so josh can get comission. :)

i love my job here at primary children's. it has been a lot of fun working with kids. it is hard to burn out because all the kids have such big warm hearts.

if anyone wants to do anything fun this summer let me know because time is running out before i get crazy busy with school.

FRUIT PIZZA

2 pkgs. cream cheese
1 roll refrigerated sugar cookie dough
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sugar (or to taste)
Pizza pan
Assorted fruit suggestions: Kiwi, strawberries, mandarin oranges, bananas, black or blue berries

Spread cookie dough over pizza pan. Cook the crust as directed on wrapper. In a bowl, microwave cream cheese until soft. Add vanilla and sugar. Spread cream cheese mixture on top of cooled cookie. Cut and lay fruit in circles. Serve immediately.

this is a desert type thing. so don't go making it for dinner.

i decided to watch the show this season. i tried to get josh into it with me. at first he was really hesitant about it, but then he really got worked up about it.

we don't watch much tv around our house. in fact we don't even have basic tv. we watch most shows online. or buy some good ones on dvd's. i don't like tv at all. in fact it gives me headaches. but for some reason we are drawn to this show. don't ask me why.

if any of you in the future need a partner to watch bachelorette shows you must call my husband. he will love you forever.

just thought i would give a quick update since it has been a while.

i am working at primary children's hospital right now. i still have a week of training left. i LOVE it. i get to work with babies, kids, teens, and even young adults sometimes. i think i will like my new job.

i think i was mislead about the hours i would be working when i accepted that job. but oh well. i will still like it and it won't conflict with school at all. so it should work out ok.

josh got his two weeks notice at his job and he will be laid off. his last day is thursday so he has been looking for different jobs.

we have been doing great though. no worries.

i have been working on some geneology. i figured i should take advantage of working on it while i am living so close to the family history library in salt lake. it has been a lot of fun doing it. and when i get the opportunity to do temple work for people that are in m family it is such a great feeling. i recommend it to everyone.

well i hope you all are doing well. it has been a great summer so far. love ya!

this was at the airport. in the way to florida.. woop woop.

and once we got to florida, people decided they like to cruise around like this..
and then we decided to have an open house so we could hang out with josh's family that couldn't make it to the wedding in utah.
this is josh's brother and sister-in-law (my husband is the hot one.)
but his nieces are most adorable. and they know it.
so the next day josh wanted movie time.
we saw baby mama
the next day we wanted to go shopping..
but josh had no idea where the freeway was.. (maybe it was because he was looking for food instead.)
the next day we wanted disney world... but it was next to impossible to get a picture in front of epcot.

but we did make it to magic kindom.

it was really hard work. it took like 4 of our precious weekends before the wedding to actually do all of this but we are loving it!!

but then we decided to paint our house too. this is our dining room color.

this is us happily attempting to cook up some stir fry. it was so so sososo good. let me know if you ever want any gingered veggie tofu stir fry because it was seriously amazing..

but this is the whole family's favorite place to be... the back porch. here are our adorable kids.. i mean kittens. we cant have kids for a while so we will settle for kittens i guess. .

this is josh's other lover. no actually she is the one in love with him. she waits for him by the door every day in the afternoon waiting for him to come home from work to steal all of his love. when in reality she just really likes you to spank her bottom lots. really.

i like the porch lots.
but josh doesn't so much.

sorry for all of my boring blogs...

so i had a job interview at primary children's hospital. i practically got hired on the spot. the manager loved me. he loved me so much that he interviewed me for over an hour. which is great i really enjoyed it. but consider me the newest member of the surgical unit at primary children's hospital. i haven't put in my 2 weeks notice though at my current job because i guess the employment center has to check my background and all that, but it should all be fine. i am excited. :) i never thought i would be working with children in a hospital setting, but i am really excited to get new experience in a totally different atmosphere. i will be sad to leave my current job though. my love and passion is working on the rehab unit. but i need to move on and love other things.

and luckily josh still has his job throughout the month. we are happy about that.

nothing else new. we are honestly kinda boring right now. so if any of you want some quality hang out time we are both totally down.

not much new to update this week. we are still trying to finish up our house. we are to the cleaning and finishing touches! so excited! it is all looking so perfect.

i am still looking for a new job. it has been difficult. but i am sure the right job will pop up at the right time. maybe that will be next week? anyway, i hope it is soon because i still have to drive an hour and a half every time i work because of rush hour. it is pretty miserable.

wedding stuff. april20-april26

well here is the story:

josh and i both had to give talks in church the sunday before the wedding. it was crazy busy all week and i didn't have time to write my talk until the night before. well i didn't finish my talk until 7:00 am sunday morning. i had church at 1 so i had some time to sleep which was nice. i didn't have much time to eat though because i took extra time to sleep in.

so i got to church and my nerves were running off the wall. i didn't even know why because i knew i would never see any f those people again. so i got up and just started reading my talk. i was so nervous that i never looked up. but as time went on i got less and less nervous. well i started to feel a little light headed and started seeing stars. so i paused and took a little breath and wiped the cold sweat off my forehead. i looked up and told everyone that i was sorry that i was just feeling a little nervous. right as i said that though i realized that i really wasn't even nervous anymore and that i had just been locking my knees the whole talk so thats why i was feeling light headed. so i decided that i just needed to hurry and finish the talk. there were only 2 paragraphs left. well i said 2 more words and fell straight to the floor. i passed out in my talk. i couldn't believe it. so i then opened my eyes and everyone was standing around me asking if i was ok and if i could finish my talk. i told them i couldn't finish the talk. i didn't even want to get off the floor. but josh picked me up and escorted me out. i had a glass of water and a girl from my ward ran out and gave me some gum to help my blood sugar levels. so then i caught my bearings and decided to get up and finish my talk. i was so proud of myself.

well that was the first exciting thing of the week. haha. i thought i was really embarrassed until i realized that there was nothing i could have done to prevent it and it was not my fault. i didn't get hurt luckily. i almost hit my head on the corner of the sacrament table on the floor though i guess. i am glad that didn't happen. but i did end up getting a huge bruise on my bum that hurt whenever i sat down for the next few days. it wasn't so bad though.

then tuesday came along. that was the day i went through the temple. it was such a great and spiritual experience and i was so happy to be there with josh and his parents. i now get to wear g's. i thought that most of my clothes were modest really. i have found that most of my shirts are cut too close to my shoulders and i can't wear a lot of my clothes. it is taking a while to get used to but i love em anyway. haha

then wednesday was josh's birthday. josh's parents and grandpa and my brothers and my mom all went out to eat to celebrate. earlier that day i went and got manicures and pedicures with my mom. it was nice and relaxing.

then the wedding day was great. no big problems. everything went as planed except it decided to snow during our pictures. it was like a crazy blizzard. thank goodness i chose a short dress ;) anyway, then we had our luncheon with some of our friends and extended family at the olive garden. we had soup salad and breadsticks (our fave.) all went well.

the reception was perfect. it took a while to get going but once it got going it was a ton of fun. we had cupcakes from dippidee which are our absolute fave. they had filling too. they were amazing. we also had ice cream from sub zero ice cream which is another one of our fave places. everything went great.

we are currently trying to settle in our new place to make it feel like home. and i am looking for jobs at the hospitals in salt lake because it is a really long drive to go all the way to provo especially during rush hour.

i seriously can't believe how soon the wedding is coming! i thought it was 3 weeks away and then two weeks we would be moving our stuff to our new place, but nope one week til we move our things and two weeks til we get married and we still have some furniture to finish up.

for those of you who don't know what we have been up to.... i have been working sunday-tuesday 6p-6a and josh had been working monday-thursday. then on friday and saturday we have been working on some furniture for our new place. my dad was getting rid of a bunch of old furniture and we needed some. well the furniture was dang ugly. so we decided to distress it and make it cool and it is turning out better then what we thought it would. we will take pictures. so we have been extremely busy. we haven't purposely been not hanging out. we have just been busy like crazy.

well i hope you all come to the wedding. we are both getting more and more excited as the day gets closer and closer.

i haven't really put up too many photos because i have been lazy and haven't taken many photos, but here are some that we took on valentine's day. i was really feeling pretty sick and didn't want to go anywhere. so josh and i were looking through this amazing cook book trying to find something we could make for dinner. josh went and got all of the things and then with my directions and sitting on my butt josh made the entire dinner himself. i was so proud of him. it was a great gormet dinner made from scratch. it was a pesto thing with beans and nuts in it and some cheese pita bread. i have a great future hubby.

we got the invitations out last week. mostly everyone should have gotten one. if you didn't get one let me know. the invitations turned out really well. i am really excited.

now that all of the wedding planning is all mostly over and stuff i have been able to enjoy life more and it feels good. i am now actually getting excited for the wedding now that the stress of it is gone.

now we can do exciting stuff like paint furniture, play with friends more, and giggle.

so last night josh drove around the apartment again later in the day. he decided that the neighborhood was a bit sketchy and he asked if we could find a new place to live. so we finally found the new home sweet home.

i hope you guys like the looks of this place better. it is in a much better location. a little more expensive but it is worth it to live in a safer place.

the current tenants living in the apartment will not be moving out until april 15. then depending on what all needs to be done with the place (i.e. painting, cleaning, floors refinishing) it could take up to 2 days or 2 weeks so i am praying it will be done before april 23 so we can move in before the wedding.

some of you have been also asking about some wedding stuff...

i will be doing my endowments at the mt. timpanogos temple on april 22 in the evening.

we will be sealed at the mt. timpanogos temple at noon on april 24 for anyone that would like to wait outside. i would offer to invite some in but right now we are not sure if we will have enough room yet.

the reception will be on april 24 at my noahs. from 7:30-9:30 (i think? read the invitation when you get it)
it will be in room 300 at noahs.
at the reception we will be having sub zero icecream which is our absolute favorite so be excited!
we are registered at target and bed bath & beyond.

for my bridal showers....
my work will be doing one for me on march 25 at work that night.

my step mom and my grandma will be doing one for my dad's family on april 5.

my mom will be coming in town a week before the wedding because she wants to throw a huge shower for all of the amazing women that i grew up with and all of my wonderful friends over the years. that shower will be on april 19 from 11-3 and it will be an open house style.

if you can't make the one on april 19 let me know so i can be sure to invite you to the one my step mom and my grandma are doing for me on april 5.

i am really excited it is all coming together and i will be sending out my invitations this thursday (march 20) so you should for sure get one this weekend or the early part of next week. i am really excited about my invitations. my roommate helped me design them and they look wonderful.

It has been so hard for Josh and I to find a place to live for when we are married in April. Part of the problem is that I have 2 cats. They are adorable and I can't do without them. We have called a bunch of places that are under $650/month. They have mostly been pretty nice and livable. But we called a bunch of them and asked for the pet policy and and most of them told us that we had to pay around $300 for a pet deposit and $250 pet fee then $35 pet rent per pet times 2 cats=$620 and then they all want our deposit and first months rent and that is some mega bucks. So we finally settled for a place to live. It isn't the coolest place to live but it is way cheap and they only charge $250 for my cats together.
